![]() Of course, many people have walked the length of England just like Harold – though usually for charity, and often taking an even longer route, from John O'Groats in the north to Land's End in the south. But both happened, and while they did I wrote this story about a man who sets off to save someone else. ![]() I was appalled at the idea of watching him die. “I was appalled at the idea of not having my father. “He had spent years battling cancer, and after several brutal operations, surgeons told him there was nothing left to be done. “I began writing this as a radio play when my father told me he was dying,” she said (via BookBrowse). ![]() While Harold, Queenie and Maureen may not be real people, Joyce has spoken about how she was inspired to write the book by her own father. “People often do ask questions about Harold as if he were a real person,” she said. In an interview with The Guardian in 2014, Joyce revealed that many readers did believe the story was true. It’s actually based on the novel of the same name that was written by Rachel Joyce and published in 2012. Harold’s inspirational story certainly sounds like it is based on real events, but in fact it is not a true story. ![]()

![]() Never before in recent times has the recognition of the positive health effects of coconut oil been stronger. New and exciting health and industrial uses of coconut oil and its derivative are possible. ![]() In vitro, animal, and human studies support the potential of coconut oil as effective and safe immune-nutritive active. The anti-microbial mechanistic action also helps activate the anti-inflammatory nature of the immune response in human body. ![]() Not only does coconut oil metabolites have antimicrobial activity but also these remarkable derivatives have been shown not to cause resistance organisms to appear. The studies reported in literature are discussed to evaluate the antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal benefits of coconut oil. The information discussed in this review explains that coconut oil, either topically applied or ingested, gets broken down to release Lauric Acid and Monolaurin – known anti-microbial agents. The medium chain fatty acids and monoglycerides found primarily in coconut oil have miraculous healing power which act as natural antibiotic and also help modulate immunity. Modern research has now found a common link between these two natural health products – their lipid content. The same health effects were also attributed to the mother’s milk in ancient literature. Coconut oil as health oil was recognized in Ayurvedic medicine almost 4000 years ago. ![]() ![]() ![]() Childhood friends Eddie, Hoppo, Metal Mickey, Fat Gav, & Nicky are inseparable despite the conflicting lives of their parents.
